November 2016 – Extension of Well Service Rig Contract – Enerdrill Rig-1

Following the perforation and completion program carried out by Enerdrill Rig-1 at Empire Oil & Gas’ Red Gully North-1 (RGN-1) Well between 23 March 2016 and 13 April 2016 Empire agreed to extend the contract for workover operations in the Perth Basin.

On 18 November 2016, Empire announced that Enerdrill Rig-1 was mobilised to RGN-1, successfully rigged up and was operationally accepted by Empire, with remedial cementing workover having started on schedule on Sunday 13 November 2016. All technical, safety and environmental approvals were received from the Department of Mines and Petroleum. The remedial cementing workover and test program is expected to take approximately 30 days.

Empire CEO, Ken Aitken said: “The project planning approvals and equipment mobilisation have progressed efficiently. Empire is now looking forward to a successful remedial cementing workover and test on RGN-1 so that, upon success, we can commercialise the gas volumes in the Red Gully North well.”
